The running stitch is one of the linear-stitch family. You can use them as they are or add some embroidery on top of them to create more relief or colourful effects. This stitch is used to draw straight or curved lines ! The beauty of this stitch is all in his regularity.
Running Stich
1. Take your needle out in A on the fabric front side.
2. Get down in B and out again in C so you draw a small stitch.
3. Repeat as often as necessary to trace your pretty line !
Et voilà ! You can diversify the length of the stitches as well as the spaces between each stitch. And if you are using Cotton or Silk floss, vary the number of thread you use…
